The Alvis 4.3L short chassis tourer was produced from 1937 to 1940.  Just over 200 were made.  Of these only twelve were bodied by Vanden Plas.  Most of these still survive.

The Alvis 4.3L Vanden Plas Short Chassis Tourer was a classic of car design of the age, with excellent reviews from the motoring press of the time.  It was low to the ground, sleek and elegant, with a sloping tail, cut away doors and louvered sides to the bonnet.  The fold flat windscreen, fully covered spare wheel and the shaped wings added to its attraction.  The sleek look was enhanced with a stripe down the side.  With wire wheels and a two tone painted body the car was one of the best looking at the time.

Road test figures gave it a 0-60mph time of 11.3 seconds and a top speed of 103.45mph.

Four colour combinations are available for the model as standard.  We are able to make models with special colour combinations to customer order if required.   Email for details.
