Invicta S-Type Donald Healey 1931 Monte Carlo winner
This model is of the Invicta S48 that was driven by Donald Healey in 1931 and was the Monte Carlo winner.  He started the rally in Stavanger in Norway – one of the most difficult starting points due to a combination of difficult road conditions and a blizzard.  Shortly after starting he slid off the road and demolished a telegraph pole, bending the chassis and putting both axles out of alignment. Despite this, Healey won the Rally and claimed the cup and the prize of £400.   Photographs of the car taken at the time show that the car had a very unusual exhaust system.  It seems probable that this was a repair done as a result of the crash.

After the race Donald Healey made a model of the car, which was in black with blue wings.  This model will therefore be made in those colours.

A background to the race and the car can be seen here.

The design of this model is well under way.

The final model will be closely based on this sample, but with the addition of number plates PL 3188 at front and rear, Rallye Monte Carlo signage with the racing number 128 at the front and rear, GB Country signs, windscreen "glass" and windscreen wipers, and a choice of black or silver wire wheels.

We plan to have this AT11 model available in February 2019 at a price of £185 plus postage.  Each model will be individually numbered in the limited edition.
