Invicta S Type 1931 Monte Carlo Winner - Donald Healey

Made by Autotorque

Limited Edition

1:43 scale white metal

Stock Code: AT11

Price: £185

This model is of the Invicta S48 that was driven by Donald Healey in 1931 and was the Monte Carlo winner.  He started the rally in Stavanger in Norway – one of the most difficult starting points due to a combination of difficult road conditions and a blizzard.  Shortly after starting he slid off the road and demolished a telegraph pole, bending the chassis and putting both axles out of alignment. Despite this, Healey won the Rally and claimed the cup and the prize of £400.   Photographs of the car taken at the time show that the car had a very unusual exhaust system.  It seems probable that this was a repair done as a result of the crash.

A background to the race and the car can be seen here.

Each model will be individually numbered in the limited edition.

Options Available

After the race Donald Healey made a model of the car, which was in black with blue wings.  This model is therefore made in those colours.
